O Fortuna! Set to Carl Orff's epic score, the world premiere of Geoffrey Gonzalez's Carmina Burana takes us to 1929 Manhattan where the world sits on the verge of a stock market collapse. The swinging '20s come to a screeching halt as the Great Depression rears its ugly head, a fitting dance adaptation of Orff's dramatic tale of fortune and wealth, and the perils of vice. This production features stunning choreography, a full chorus, soloists and the might of the City Ballet Orchestra. You'll also see Elizabeth Wistrich's lively, but ethereal ballet set to Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp, showcasing the classical skills of the City Ballet dancers. Before each performance, attend a lecture by Artistic Director Steven Wistrich.
