Classic, Modern Choral Works From Baltic Shores
The Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco joins forces with the Golden Gate Men's Chorus for a musical journey to the shores of the Baltic Sea. Rich in cultural identities and languages, the Baltic region inspires Baltic Shores, a program of contemporary and classic works from Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden. The highlight of the concert is the sublime "Te Deum" by Estonian-born Arvo Pärt, directed by special guest Ragnar Bohlin, San Francisco Symphony Chorus conductor. Each chorus will also perform a solo set, with music by Brahms, Penderecki, Esenvalds, Mellñas, Tormis, Rautavaara and Mikinis.
