Simply suberb! The songs were delivered in the most personal and exciting way. Music is a refuge and a healing and Denise and Tammy Hall proved that once again. Bravissima!

Quotes & Highlights

“Ms Perrier boasts a gorgeous instrument; call it a burnished contralto. When she sustains a tone, it remains unswerving. Yet when she decides to go for a high note, she can leap an octave with ease and vocal strength. She swings freely, improvising intelligently and showing no need to rely on scat. And bless her, you can understand each syllable of the lyrics. When she tackles a dramatic ballad, she interprets lyrics without resorting to melodrama. Knowing Denise’s background, that should come as no surprise — she’s an actress and cabaret singer.” —JazzTimes

This San Francisco-based vocalist, blessed with a rich contralto voice, can belt out the blues like Bessie, and then, in her Dinah persona, melt your heart with a poignant jazz ballad.

A formidable artist in her own right, Denise also presents favorites from her own versatile repertoire and CDs: The Second Time Around, Blue Monday Party, East Meets West; and I Wanna Be Loved. This is a show certain to please audiences who love music presented with drama and verve.
