Well the concert itself was great, the problems were with the venue (and getting into the venue). Long lines to get in, not enough entry points. And no security around the lines were present, so lots of people were cutting in line, so it quickly...continued

I was completely able to enjoy the concert since I came prepared. It was quite cold, almost half the audience left at intermission becuase they were underdressed. After I got my neighbors warmed up with my extras we were all albe to relax and...continued

The music was great, the venue as well - I just wasn't prepared for it to be so cold! Anyone going to the America's Cup Pavilion should know it's outside AND it does get frighteningly cold when the fog moves in and the wind freshens up.

While beautiful music — what a terrible venue to have it in! Summers in SF are very cold, terrible for both instruments and people. The musicians were great, but this was lost on the audience who sat there shivering. Most left by intermission. ...continued

The whole day was a wonderful treat! We got an open-top F train on the Embarcadero, w/ lots of tourists from France, etc. We went past pier 27 to pier 33 and found Butterfly Restaurant, (lovely view of water), then hung out watching boats be4 the...continued

Very low-rent deal in general, but then they cheated me of the big, booming kettle drums for the 1812 overture!

First off, the five stars is for the spectacular musicality of the virtuoso performance of Nicola Benedetti, who was a revelation. I didn't know anything about her before the concert, now she is my favorite living violinist, and I wouldn't have...continued

great listening to Symphony but very windy and cold the night we went 7/20; dress like you are going to the snow. We had bleacher seats, sec. 209- move down or stand below where they allow you- better acoustics and warmer in lower areas. Take...continued

My evaluation has nothing to do with SF Symphony's performance quality; the music was outstanding and the playing was fantastic. But the idea to make the crowds to freeze sitting on folding chairs and stone stairs was really auwful. The...continued

The San Francisco Symphony's "Best of Tchaikovsky" concert was very entertaining, but I feel it was not up to their normal standard. The violin soloist was outstanding.

Had the advertisement indicated the "Pavilion" was really an outdoor amphitheatre, I would have dressed appropriately for winter....We shivered looking at the soloist, Nicloa Benedetti who was dressed elegantly for a concert hall, but not outdoors...continued

The symphony was excellent. the guest violinist, Nicola Benedetti was outstanding. I don't know how the violinist was able to play so well in a sleveless dress. I guess the lights help keep them comfortable.
The weather was cold and windy. I...continued

Fabulous performance by the SF Symphony and its guest performers!
Dress very warm because the America's Cup Pavilion is oftentimes cold and windy.
The acoustics at this venue are not well suited to sophisticated symphonic music.

Great concert. Minus: No programs upon arrival (6:25 PM). Too many latecomers and interruptions. Bleachers too cold for a San Francisco night (my fault). Besides that the concert was fantastic.

Five stars for the symphony's performance and the brilliant violinist's, but the choice of the location on the waterfront just eliminated anything good about it.

Honestly, I can't understand what additional value the organizers thought this...continued
