San Francisco's internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company ODC/Dance celebrates their 43rd season with the world premiere of boulders and bones ("A" program), inspired by the work of visual artist Andy Goldsworthy, and including collaborations with Zoë Keating, Alexander V. Nichols and RJ Muna. In their "B" program, they revisit their 2013 smash hit Triangulating Euclid created by ODC artistic directors Brenda Way and KT Nelson in collaboration with New York choreographer Kate Weare. Two if by Sea gets new choreographic treatment by ODC associate choreographer Kimi Okada, and the company reprises the beloved Unintended Consequences: A Meditation. Learn More

Beautiful piece, interwoven with the magic of movement, words, sound and sets. I loved the sets, denoting water, with leaves, translucent sculpture. The dancing/movement superb. All of the components were wonderfully magically integrated. And the fact that we, the audience, was an integral part of the performance, was especially nice.
I moved, walked, sat, knelt, in various places, to experience the dancers, set, and story from different viewpoints. That was a terrific component of the evening.
I would definitely recommend Liss Fain Dance, "The Water Is Clear and Still", be seen by anyone interested in movement, sculpture, sound, storytelling, all wonderfully woven together.

About the Ticket Supplier: Liss Fain DanceVisceral. Emotional. Compelling. Liss Fain Dance is renowned for its innovative blending of fast-paced modern dance with the clarity and vertical lift of ballet. Unlike a mixed repertory company, Liss Fain's concerts have a single construct as a unifying factor in all the evening's pieces. Through movement that is technically and structurally precise and through careful juxtaposition of individuals and groups, Ms. Fain creates the forcefulness and complexity of an emotional environment. Exemplifying the style of European contemporary dance, her work incorporates ballet's kinetic precision with the flow and movement experimentation of modern dance.
Since it's founding in 1988, Liss Fain Dance has produced vibrant, abstract pieces that are at the forefront of new approaches to integrated collaborative performances. The nine member, San Francisco based contemporary dance company performs dances that are about "shape, expression, flow and musicality."
