Very intimate theater, no bad seats, but a little warm in there, so do dress in layers.

“A highly entertaining exercise in foul mouthed-sketch comedy with a surprising jolt of braininess.” —" ":
San Francisco Bay Times “Hot Ticket”

After knock out shows in the LA Comedy Festival and the SF Sketchfest, PianoFight’s Stop Hating Imagination Time Show (SHIT Show) has put its UC Berkeley alum writer/producers (Ray Hobbs, Devin McNulty and Duncan Wold) back to work to hammer out their fifth collection of all new sketch comedy in 10 months.

As always, the show is a fast paced bundle of loosely interrelated sketch comedy pieces. But this time around, the producers are continuing their asymptotic approach to legitimate art by working in an exciting array of mixed media that will include video, slideshows, and even a powerpoint presentation—all of which play into the live action unfolding on stage. If you’re into harshly vulgar sketches, you’ll love it; if you like biting satire and complexly structured meta-comedy, you’ll love it even more. Come see why the SF Weekly called PianoFight ‘Funnier than SNL.’

The show features PianoFight mainstays Duncan Wold, Evan Winchester, Jed Goldstein, Devin McNulty, Ray Hobbs, Jaque Vavroch, Rand Courtney, Christy Crowley, Jeremy Mascia, Eric Reid, Derricka Smith, Dan Williams, Rob Ready, Gabi Patacsil, and Alex Boyd, with original music scored and performed by Arlen Ginsburg

About the Ticket Supplier: PianoFight Productions

PIANOFIGHT was formed by Rob Ready, Dan Williams and Kevin Fink in 2007. After completing a $1.2 million fundraising campaign, 10% of which was crowd-funded through the largest Theater Kickstarter for a New Live Performance Venue ever, PianoFight has completed its home at 144 Taylor Street in San Francisco. The venue contains three rehearsal spaces, two black box theaters (42-seater and a 92-seater), and a full restaurant and bar with a cabaret stage. Since its inception, PianoFight has successfully managed venues (Off-Market Theater Complex); created the largest audience-judged playwriting competition in the country (ShortLived); instigated a fully-scripted, choose-your-own-adventure play series (FORKING!); recklessly invited audiences to Throw Rotten Veggies at the Actors Nights; formed two critically acclaimed sketch comedy groups (Mission CTRL and Chardonnay); toured the coast of California (Endless Weekend Tour I & II); created a surf rock band (Das Haus Band) and a soul band (PianoFight Music Department); launched a film department that retains corporate and artistic clients; and built a three-man producing team into a 48-member company of artists while staying true to its mission of producing New Work by New Artists ™. We’ve also consumed vast oceans of beer and have had one hell of a time in the process. PianoFight is committed to making 144 Taylor St. San Francisco’s next landmark entertainment venue. PianoFight was voted the Best Theater Company in San Francisco in SF Weekly‘s 2009 Readers’ Poll, and the Best Up-And-Coming Theater Company in the City by SF Weekly in 2011. In 2012, PianoFight won the SF Bay Guardian’s Goldie Award for Theater.
