There are many pubs, restaurants and bars near the venue location. We ate at Beretta's, a cool, hip and urban atmosphere. The wait was calculated to be an hour so we chose to eat outside at the bistro tables where they had heaters setup. It wasn't extremely cold, so it was tolerable. The food was average, nothing to write home about, mostly italian.

I love going to see the solo shows at The Marsh, and Pidge Meade is one of the most talented writer/performers they've featured. This thought provoking show is about body image, the "war on obesity" and how people's perceptions of you change...continued

Pidge Meade's ability to switch to so many characters with a lot of empathy for each one was thrilling to see.

Pidge had decent, funny and heartwarming material - Great delivery!
The Marsh Upstairs Studio Theater (SF) is an okay venue... The chairs are a bit uncomfortable and the theater was quite chilly. Street parking can be a challenge - Best to opt...continued

More Information

It’s 1986 and Meade is home after her freshman year of college with loads of new ideas in her head … and 40 new pounds on her five-foot frame. Her Dad – a tough, no-nonsense, world-renowned gymnastics coach – takes one horrified look at his ‘super-sized’ daughter and issues an ultimatum: shed the weight by summer’s end or kiss college goodbye! Flash forward. After losing 70 pounds, Meade attends a college reunion and runs into her old roommate, who wants to know how she shed the weight. But this tale of life changes – like the confrontation between old friends – takes some decidedly unexpected twists.

Meade has appeared from coast to coast in everything from Shakespeare to Sondheim to really bad murder mystery dinner theatre. Favorite Bay Area roles include Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls” and the title role in “Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge.”
