The Firefly Project: Letters Between Students and the Terminally Ill
Magic Theatre presents a theatrical event celebrating 20 years of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center's Art for Recovery Firefly Project. Over the past two decades the project has built an unlikely bridge between students of all ages and those that face life threatening illnesses by having them exchange letters and participate in collaborative art projects. The Firefly Project takes text from the writings of the students and patients and puts it on stage to illuminate real life perspectives on AIDS, cancer, school, hospitals, family, life, death and art.
