Play was enjoyable. However as a female and former basketball player the young lady’s dribbling skill was lacking when she was supposed to be a great player.
Overall enjoyed the play. Parking was challenging but found a spot.
Theater was clean...continued

Good message. Great punchline at the end. Funny and serious. Some of the dialogue was hard to understand (quick stacatto dialogue with some words hard to recognize).
Mezzanine seats were OK unless you have a large person in front of you who...continued

Great acting. Great story of a historic moment in relations between China and the US. Who would have guessed basketball was the reason?

I'm impressed with the imagination of the playwright Lauren Yee. She's writing stories that I can relate to...continued

Amazing cast, top-notch writing and an insightful piece that made me proud of my Chinatown recreation center roots. The many laughs over things which I thought were uniquely Chinese experiences showed me that this story about identity and the...continued

Great seats (4th row center orchestra) in ACT’s beautiful old theater. I loved the play despite its 2-hour length (yes, there’s an intermission!) and the fact that the script could have been tightened up a bit. A plot flaw that becomes apparent in...continued

A few days ago I saw a Friday night performance of Lauren Yee's play, and my main criticism of the play stems from the depiction of a young Chinese American San Francisco named Mannford. This character is suppose to be a teenager in the late...continued

The dialogue was ok; the actors need to project their voices more, especially we are sitting at the balcony level..we missed some of the "punchlines", people in orchestra were laughing and we didn't know what they were laughing about.

The Great Leap has some of the most incredible writing. The dialogue in this play was fast pace and relentless. I was so surprised only four actors came out to take the last bow and greet the audience.

It was more serious than I thought it would be. The actors were good.
Good to see BD Wong on Saturday afternoon.

Bd Wong was fantastic as always. The ending blew me away but later I realized I could have seen it coming. I appreciated the desire to remain hidden under the radar in the era of the Cultural Revolution.

Excellent seat. Thanks, Goldstar. The story is interesting in how it looks backward and forward in political time, the characters identities, and what or who acknowledges change of self and others in each environment through a sport. The actors...continued

Extremely well-acted and well staged. The play itself had some weak spots that left me feeling that it needed more filling out.

Great acting by BD Wong. Not a bad story but two of the main characters were unlikeable or cartoon-like. Plus the ending was absurd. Too bad for Wong. His character and his portrayal of that character was fantastic.

I wasn't too sure what to expect, but enjoyed the overall performances of all four actors. The set design/direction was great too.
