Northside's A Streetcar Named Desire was the most profound experience I've ever had in a theatre. Everyone knows the story of Streetcar, and frankly I tend to be shy of plays when I know how they end. And I'm kind of a comedy guy. But this was a tour de force. Every moment in this play hits just the right balance. Rage, pathos, and the all-important comic relief at just the right moment. I was so affected, I was actually a little theatre-drunk by the end of the evening. That rare feeling that happens when you've seen a play and been so moved that there's an aura that stays with you for hours after. I was a little afraid to drive home.
