The performers were outstanding. However, the theater was stuffy and hot.

Very amateurish team. Vocals and music was good, but the dancers weren't good at all with the exception of one.

Captivating, colorful performances by this very talented group. Only suggestion is that dresses be shorter to see all the fantastic foot action!

Quotes & Highlights

“Lugo, who earned her Spanish dance stripes early on with veteran performer Lola Montes, proves herself adapt in choreographing story dances based on the traditions of classical court dances… pure dance poetry.” —Contra Costa Times

The Flamenco Society of San Jose presents Brisas de España, recognized as one of the top Flamenco-Spanish dance companies in the United States. The uniqueness of Brisas de España emanates from the combination of Flamenco-Spanish dance presented on stage by Artistic Director, Carolina Lugo. Her artistic vision, which brings top international Flamenco artists from Spain and abroad to grace the stage with her and her company, interweaves the extraordinary talents of these artists with melodic palates of musical virtuosity and colorful step design with the clever staging of dancers

and musicians interlacing rhythms with one another to create a colorful canvas of artists on stage.
