What a blast! Super cast members - even (in art imitating life) the theater owners. The guys and gals portraying Calliope, Thalia and Terpsicore were outstanding comic foils, and Melpomene was a delightful villainess. Kiraaaah and Sonny were...continued

Quotes & Highlights

“The players and the performances are tight, sharp and finessed. As an ensemble, this has to be one of the best gatherings of local talent I’ve seen in the area in years. And what a refreshing surprise that is._ Xanadu_ is a breath of fresh air.” —_Good Times Santa Cruz _
“The tongue-in-cheek play affectionately parodies the 1980 film while sending up the current fad for jukebox musicals. Retro-enthusiasts will love its numerous pop-culture references. And of course, the play retains what everyone liked most about the movie, even if they wouldn’t admit it: musical hits by Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton-John.” —The Metro
“Maybe it’s my imagination, but I think their interpretation of the show looked better than the glimpse you can get of the movie or Broadway version when you look online. Their sets, their costumes, and their music were all top-notch.” —_Campbell Express _

Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, Xanadu is the most ridiculously wonderful time you’ll ever have in a theater!_

Xanadu_ is the hit Broadway musical that has transformed the cult classic film into the hottest comedy on Broadway. Now appearing for the very first time in the Bay Area at The Retro Dome, it is here to stay. It was the best reviewed musical of its Broadway season. The show received raves from The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Daily News, and Time Out News, among many others.

Everyone’s crazy for this clever tale about a Greek goddess (on roller skates, of course) who seeks to inspire a hapless artist in 1980 to create the world’s first roller disco. Throw in all 11 songs from the film (plus three supersonic pop gems from Jeff Lynne and John Farrar), a script that redefines the Broadway satire, a finale lit by neon glow sticks, and you’ll be laughing and dancing in the aisles at the biggest party of 2011!
