My two daughters (ages 8 and 5) enjoyed it but as a parent I don't know if it was worth the money (even at the discounted Goldstar rate) or the time waiting (an hour in the rain). Once they reach capacity (I believe this is 800), they only let people in as others leave. Although there's a sign for for E-tickets or prepaid purchases, when they're at capacity, everyone has to wait in the same line.
The Legoland is not that big. The employees say that the time to go through everything should be about two hours. We were done in about an hour, which was very disappointing given our wait. We could have spent more time in the play area upstairs building with Legos or in the play gym but there was limited space available at the play tables (in the same room as the cafeteria), it was very chaotic (Legos were strewn all over the floor), and we didn't bring the required socks for the gym.
The exhibits/ride are entertaining but brief. There's the Dragon Ride, which is similar to the It's a Small World ride at Disney but through scenes (e.g., bats hanging from the ceiling, dragons) where the characters are made from Legos. The factory tour is worthwhile primarily for the Lego each person gets at the end of the exhibit. The 4D movie is interesting but loud. The best part for adults may be the Miniland where they recreate key buildings in Chicago's skyline in Legos.
