The Journey of the Saint: A Madcap Caper About Faith
A madcap adventure begins in Spain and winds through South America, following the true pilgrimage of the mummified remains of Saint Fortunata in 1796. A devout Catholic actor and an atheist theatrical effects specialist cross the Atlantic Ocean and travel through Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru together, with the saint in their arms and the Inquisition hot on their trail. This hilarious caper examines faith versus doubt, and miracles versus theater. Written by César de María and translated into English by director Rose Cano, this production of The Journey of the Saint makes its English language world premiere at Bullitt Cabaret at ACT in Seattle.
