The Mormon Bird Play: Dark Comedy by Washington Ensemble
$5 - $10*
$10 - $20
Playwright and director Roger Benington's darkly twisted comedy The Mormon Bird Play makes its world premiere in this Washington Ensemble Theatre production. In the play (inspired by the absurdist Polish work Ivona, Princess of Burgundia), six male actors play little girls, who become birds, who manifest themselves as Mormon temple workers and Mormon pioneer women. Within this allegorical dream-world, a 10-year-old girl, recently transplanted to Salt Lake City to live with her Mormon cousins, finds an injured bird on LDS Temple grounds and becomes the object of suspicion.
