Theatre Organ Pops! -- Pop Music on the Pipe Organ
When it comes to sheer size and scale, it's impossible to top a theater organ. And with organist extraordinaire Scott Foppiano at the helm, you'll fly through a fun afternoon of lively, toe-tapping pop music presented by the Puget Sound Theatre Organ Society. Seattle's Calvary Christian Assembly boasts a three-manual, 25-rank Kimball-Wurlitzer -- that's a lot of pipes and switches -- a magnificent organ that has been expanded since its original 1922 installation at the Liberty Theatre. In recent years, the organ has received upgrades and repairs, including a new percussion unit, flute celeste, glockenspiel, xylophone and more, making it a sight to behold.
