Mozart's whimsical opera The Magic Flute springs to life via the Washington National Opera and vivid, colorful sets and costumes from Japanese-American artist Jun Kaneko. This adventure-filled opera begins as the Queen of the Night sends the brave Prince Tamino on a quest to rescue her daughter from an evil sorcerer. Accompanied by the clumsy and comical birdcatcher Papageno, Tamino braves all obstacles to find the princess and defeat the sorcerer, only to find that all is not what it seems. Tamino's adventure is marked by dramatic plot twists as trickery and betrayals are revealed, and the true villain emerges. This production is sung in English with projected English titles. Learn More

Loved the opening act and Jonathan Butler. Very entertaining. What I didn't like was that I had to stand on the 2nd level the entire time during the show. My other visit to the Filmore was standing on the first floor and VIP seating on the 2nd floor. For Jonathan Butler show they had seating on the first floor, some seating on the 2nd floor, but my ticket was for standing only. I could see well; and I could dance because I had to stand. It was fun!

The Filmore venue was excellent. I had a top balcony standing seat...However, I was able to see the concert very well. There is nota bad seat in the house. I will be attending concerts at teh Filmore in the future. Also, the food was great as well.
