The North Shore Center presents an intimate evening of music with two of folk music's great unsung heroes, Janis Ian and Livingston Taylor. Already a hit songwriter at the age of 14, Janis Ian rose to prominence on the success of her chart-topping ballad "At Seventeen," which won the singer-songwriter and accomplished guitar player two Grammy Awards. Once hailed by Ella Fitzgerald as "the best young singer in America," Ian has had a long and fruitful career ever since, most recently garnering critical acclaim for her autobiography, Society's Child
, which earned her a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album. Livingston Taylor is the brother of singer-songwriter James Taylor, a professor at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and a natural performer who has toured with major artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Jimmy Buffett and Jethro Tull in his four-decade music career.
