Of all the great female stars to emerge from Australia -- Olivia-Newton John, Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman -- none can hold a candle to the rhinestone-studded awesomeness of Dame Edna Everage, the planet's reigning (and only) "gigastar." Modestly described as "probably the most gifted and talented woman in the world today," Dame Edna has circled the globe dispensing sage advice to her beloved "possums." Originally a character created by performer Barry Humphries, the sharply comedic Edna lives on in this flawless impression by Michael Walters who has donned the "wisteria" coif and sparkly glasses since 2001. With the blessing of Humphries, Walters presents this housewife, investigative journalist, social anthropologist, talk show host, swami, children's book illustrator, spin doctor, etc. etc. in all her hilarious sharped-tongue glory at The Cabaret Theater at CAMP Bar. My grandfather was a big fan of Deenie from back in her vaudeville days, one could even say he was a groupie although that term hadn't been invented yet. He introduced me to this talented diva when I was a mere lad and I've been enchanted by Deenie's talent since. I never thought I'd be lucky enough to see her perform what with her various health issues and all. My dreams came true last night and I was treated to a magical evening with Deenie.

International performance superstar Deenie Nast delivers a no holds barred, song-filled tribute to her lonely fans. After a 15-year legal battle with The Studio, Deenie recently won the right to perform as herself outside of New York City. Nast is back with a vengeance, singing the hits from her past, revealing very personal stories, providing commentary on some of her most famous screen moments and re-enforcing her legendary status to modern audiences. Songs, film clips, gossip, physical comedy, audience interation and general ’Nast-iness" will ensue! Oh yeah, and Minnie the Nurse will be there.
