I was caught hook, line and sinker from the get-go with this show, and the rest of the audience appeared to be strung out laughing as well. These guys are naturals for their characters, and even though they're sweating up a storm in their snowmobile suits (which they love so much they're compelled to sing about them), they are able to stay focused and spot-on with the punch lines. Even though their characters are Packer fans, they thankfully don't diss any other teams, so don't expect any angst in this regard if you don't root for the Green and whatever. Great fun even if you're not an angler and hate the cold.
Lloyd and Marvin keep warm in their ice shanty with a mutual appreciation for good bait, cold beer and the Packers. As Marvin anxiously awaits his opportunity to appear on a TV show, both pals scramble to protect their cold ones from Ernie the Moocher.
With musical numbers like “The Wishing Hole,” “Ode to a Snowmobile Suit,” “Fish is the Miracle Food” and “The One That Got Away,” Guys on Ice will give audiences the joys and adventures of ice fishing without freezing their socks off.
The production which is returning from a regional tour is directed by John Haynes and features the talents of Michael Lee and EJ Subkoviak as fishing buddies Lloyd and Martin and Beau Hayes as their nemesis Ernie the Moocher.
