Leaving Iowa: Nostalgic Car-Trip Comedy
A middle-aged writer travels cross-country to scatter his late father's ashes, but he's driven to distraction by memories of his family's many comical car trips in Leaving Iowa. The classic American summer vacation -- which often meant being trapped in the back seat of a station wagon while being forced to feign interest at obscure historical sites -- comes to hilarious and sentimental life on stage, as the writer's recollection of those lazy, hazy days leads him to a greater understanding of his dad and himself. This Onstage Atlanta production takes a road trip of its own to the Art Station in Stone Mountain, while the company moves into its new digs.
