Fine Arts Network takes you on a quirky, fun-filled journey to a struggling flower shop where a blood-thirsty plant from another world eagerly awaits its next victim. Darkly seductive, tragic and full of twisted humor, Little Shop of Horrors is a loving onstage homage to 1950s sci-fi movies. The third-longest-running show in off-Broadway history and the winner of several Best Musical awards, it was later made into a film starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin. The show's '50s and '60s Motown-style score, written by the Academy Award-winning team of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, includes such memorable numbers as "Skid Row," "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly Seymour." "Pippin" at the Old Town Theatre in Temecula.
A fun night at the theatre.
One of my favorite Stephen Schwartz musicals. I've seen it enough times over the years to know all the songs by heart.
The sets and costumes weren't impressive, and I wasn't wowed by the choreography at all, but this wasn't a Broadway company production, so my expectations weren't that high to begin with.
However, the lead actor's voices are exceptional.
Good value for a night out, and Old Town Temecula is a treat. The theatre itself is just the right size; not a bad seat in the house. The stage itself is large and deep for the size of the house, and the production would be improved if the sets and action would be moved 15 feet closer to the proscenium.
Parental guidance is recommended. Some material may not be suitable for younger children.
Run time is approximately two hours plus a 15-minute intermission.
