Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
This musical from legendary masterminds Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice is the perfect Sunday Funday family activity, featuring Patrick Cassidy and reimagined choreography by Dave Scott (So You Think You Can Dance). Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the "coat of many colors" story from a Bible story, and follows Joseph, whose father gives him a gorgeous multi-hued cloak as a gift. Green with envy over the garment, Joseph's brothers sell him into slavery, and he ends up in Egypt, where he manages to rescue the country from famine, with a little help from an Elvis-esque pharaoh. If you're looking for a musical that includes hip-hop dancing and nonstop singing, you'll definitely dig this one, which features an oddly amazing assortment of genres like country, rock, hip-hop and even calypso. Bring the gang to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
