Living Out Tackles Motherhood & Race
Living Out explores the complicated relationship between Salvadoran nanny Ana and the Anglo lawyer she works for. Both women are smart, hard-working mothers. Both want better lives for their children. The play reveals the shared humanity between them ... and the differences wrought by race, class and Ana's illegal status. Playwright Lisa Loomer's work also exposes the prejudices and misconceptions between Anglos and Latinos and is both outrageously funny and ultimately tragic. Living Out comes to life at Tigard's Mask & Mirror Community Theatre.
