An actor pretends to be Poe. He reads Poe's stories, shares anecdotes and history, and answers questions as Poe. Fun & interesting event. Also, the location (Gore Place--a beautiful historic mansion) was a great spot for this event.

I was pleasantly surprised.

The actor assumed the role of Edgar Allen Poe as he read four of the writer's stories in his one hour performance. Approximately, 100 attended the event, and the location in the Gore mansion in Waltham was...continued

It is an unusual experience. I recommend attending this event f you are looking for something different, you like Edgar Allen Poe, and you live in the MW area. The fee is reasonable and you don't have to pay for parking as you would for a...continued

He was so good that it was scary. You were actually talking to Poe. He did an excellent job on the readings.

I thoroughly enjoyed the "performance." When I think of Edgar Allan Poe, I do expect the macabre and was hoping the lighting would be darker with him reading by a small light. When I saw the candle on the table I expected that maybe that would...continued

In an intimate setting of Gore House, "Edgar Allan Poe" read 4 of his short stories with personal commentaries and a bit of humor. A bit of cider and cookies at the end completed the evening. Enjoyable and just long enough.
