The first song rock vocalist Sammy Hagar ever wrote was "Bad Motor Scooter," a blistering six-string anthem that turned his band Montrose into an overnight sensation. As Hagar later explained to Rolling Stone
, "I went from zero to a hundred." Hagar stepped on the gas with a successful stint as a solo artist that gave rise to his speedy single "I Can't Drive 55" before signing on with Van Halen in 1985, leading the band to produce four multi-platinum albums that hit No. 1 on the Billboard
charts. Now, Sammy Hagar is coming to Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater -- and he's not alone. Joining the "Red Rocker" on this tour is his current band The Circle, featuring long-time Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and lead guitarist Vic Johnson, plus '90s alt-rock group Collective Soul, known for hit singles like "Shine," "The World I Know" and "December."
