Film Screening of Memorias del Subdesarrollo
Representing "classics of Cuban cinema," Memorias del Subdesarrollo is one of six films chosen to highlight the festival's vibrant history at The Kennedy Center's Family Theater in Washington, DC. Following the revolution, upper-middle-class Cuban Sergio finds himself alone after his wife and family flee to Miami. Struggling to adjust to the seclusion and new class relationships, he encounters a few pathetic love stories, but has trouble concealing the background that seems so much at odds with the new order.
