Local & National Stars in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
The third installment of this season's Kennedy Center smash series Broadway Center Stage is here -- and it's the crowd-pleasing musical sensation How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Big business means big laughs in this delightfully clever lampoon of life spent climbing the corporate ladder. This tune-filled comic gem boasting an exhilarating score took Broadway by storm, winning both the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pulitzer Prize. The story follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, played by Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect), who uses a handy guidebook called How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying to assist him on his climb up the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive. Betsy Wolfe (Waitress, Falsettos) stars as Finch's love interest Rosemary Pilkington, and Michael Urie (TV's Ugly Betty, Shakespeare Theatre Company's Hamlet) takes on the role of Finch's rival Bud Frump. Local D.C. favorite Nova Payton (Ragtime at Ford's Theater, Caroline, or Change at Round House Theatre) joins as Miss Jones the secretary. Don't miss this Broadway Center Stage production at The Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater in D.C. Broadway Center Stage features a semi-staged concert format that brings in talent direct from Broadway and here in our nation's capital. These performances shine a spotlight on the emotional heart of three beloved stories in compelling new ways -- placing the artists, their vision and their work Center Stage!
