Emily Dickinson Birthday Tribute: Reading & Talk
This reading and conversation features Dickinson scholar Martha Nell Smith, executive editor of the Dickinson Electronic Archives, and artist/poet Jen Bervin, creator of The Gorgeous Nothings: Emily Dickinson's Envelope Poems -- the first full-color facsimile edition of Dickinson's manuscripts, which reproduces her experimental late work composed on scraps of envelopes. It's all set to take place on what would have been Emily Dickinson's 188th birthday at Folger Theatre in D.C. Following the reading, Dickinson's famous black cake, provided by The Suga Chef, will be served.
