First, we must make mention of The Cornell West Theory who
opened and collab w/Helen of Les Nubians.
Hard-hItting, with the Drum and Bass and Spoken Word beats
the Expanding Consciousness and Political Awareness of a Dual
Society. Head-Nodding and AfroCentric, you could truly feel the message.
Les Nubians came forth and carried the mood to heaven and brought us back to Mother Earth as the Goddesses of Love, Peace and Harmony that they are.
Their music is always uplifting, bouncy and danceable.
There were a few moody, atmospheric sets showing off their soaring
vocal range. Petite Celia emoting strength and power.
Backed by Lady Amina(did i get that right), like a Patti Labelle, holding back, hyped and seconded the chorus, again with power and range,
Then Helen, moderating and directing traffic and anchoring the sound.
The band was tight: keyboards, a rapping drummer, thumping bassman and soloing guitarist held us in their hands.
