Sir Andrew Motion & Christopher Cessac: Anthony Hecht Prize
The Waywiser Press annually awards The Anthony Hecht Poetry Prize for a collection by a poet who has published no more than one previous book of verse. The award includes publication and a $3,000 prize. Prize judge Sir Andrew Motion is the author of several poetry collections, including Coming in to Land: Selected Poems 1975-2015, The Customs House and Public Property. Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1984 and knighted in 1999, Motion has served as Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom. Presented at Folger Theatre in D.C., with introduction and conversation moderated by Waywiser Press editor-in-chief Phillip Hoy.
