The seat was fantastic- very near the stage. The story was mesmerizing. The actors were completely believable.

I thought the play was clever and well acted, with an interesting set design, especially Chekhov's portrait looming over the production.

Despite its silly title, Posner's play is terrific, as are the surprisingly seasoned performers at Woolly. Even with many chinks in the fourth wall, this is good solid theater rather than anything weird, with the f*** word masquerading as a mask....continued

Only back for three weeks. Run, don't walk to get tickets if you have not seen this cutting edge, brilliantly written, acted, directed "updating" of Chekov's the Seagull. He'd be turning in his grave but you'll be, at turns, laughing heartily...continued

I really liked the play… I had read Chekov's play too…but even without knowing much about The SeaGull or Russian playwrites, this play was FUN! My partner, Gene, enjoyed it too… BTW-Not as many F words as I had thought… less than Book of...continued

Delightful….witty….audience responses to solicitations (call outs) from characters kept everyone alert. Poignant and truthful about life's disappointments and, yes, unrequited love too. Actors all deliver their lines and emotions with verve and...continued

The theater seemed not to be able to find my tickets. Fortunately, I
Had my confirmation with me and they did give me seats.
This is the first time I have had this experience since using Goldstar.
However, the play was fabulous. We just loved...continued

A really cool, interesting, meta retelling of The Seagull.

Superb acting all around. The play itself was well written, witty and kept a good pace - even for someone not familiar with the original work (The Seagull) on which it was based. Can't wait to see another performance at this outstanding theater.

I brought my 2 sons, son-in-law, and grandson to this play based on what I had heard about it, and it fulfilled ALL of our expectations! 3 generations of huzzas! Funny, poignant, engaging well done--all in all, a huge success of a Father's Day...continued

Fantastic play, very innovative. At times it turns into a play within a play and gets a little cheeky. Usually this fails miserably and things either get too serious or too cute by half, but somehow this production pulls it off wonderfully. Quite...continued

My first time at Woolly Mammoth. I liked the theater and the play was excellent with the best of local actors. Far more interesting than I had anticipated and laced with humor.

Glad we had a chance to see this updated and new take on Chekov's classic. Superb acting. The company really brought us all in to the performance without it feeling silly or contrived.

One can always count on Woolly Mammoth to bring the new, the edgy and the 'well, it was a little different' sort of theatre to the stage. A modern take on Anton Chekov's "The Seagull", Posner and Shalwitz (writer & director) take what is...continued

Really enjoyable. A very clever crowd pleaser. Typically fantastic Woolly production. Terrific acting. Not a stuffy archival treatment of Chekhov AT ALL.

I saw it last year, and loved it just as much the second time around. Peter Marks doesn't know what he's talking about. Go see for yourselves!

Aaron Posner's free adaptation of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull" restores the revolutionary, go-for-broke spirit of the source material. Terrific performances all around. For adults only.
