Bold, brassy and remarkably charming, Gypsy's Mama Rose puts today's Dance Moms to shame. The ultimate stage mom, Mama Rose grooms her two daughters to be stars on the waning 1920s vaudeville circuit, only to see one of them leave her behind to become a burlesque sensation. With book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Gypsy features crowd-pleasing classics like "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let Me Entertain You," "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" and the show-stopping "Rose's Turn." The plot of Into the Woods intertwines the stories of various familiar fairy tales with an original story of a childless Baker and his Wife who are attempting to reverse a curse on their family in order to have a child, thus creating a single even bigger fairy tale. In the first act, the characters set out to achieve their goal of living "Happily Ever After" through familiar routes only to have to deal with what happens after "Happily Ever After" in Act Two.
