The New England Surge, a member of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL), can have an active minimum roster of 19 players with two additional players on the practice squad in case of in season injuries. The owner and coach, Roy Lucas Jr., states, “I feel very confident that this year’s team, which is a combination of our first year veterans like Tyler Grogan, Harold Shaw and others, and our new players that also include experienced athletes some with AF2 experience, will again provide a season of very exciting football.”

The Surge’s first three games starting with Friday, March 29, at Flint, Michigan, are away. The team returns for the home opening game at the DCU Center on April 20. In preparation for the season, the New England Surge follows a rigorous practice schedule meeting every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-11:30pm.
