About Aladdin on Broadway

The Disney animated classic film gets a new life on stage with Broadway’s Aladdin musical. Running since 2014, Aladdin follows the orphaned boy who has a chance encounter with the beautiful Princess Jasmine. All his dreams are realized when he befriends a Genie, becomes a prince, and meets Jasmine again — but the sultan’s evil royal vizier Jafar tries to wed Jasmine instead to control the palace.

Aladdin on Broadway showcases the same tale fans have known and loved for over 20 years, complete with an actual flying carpet. New York Theatre Guide calls Aladdin “the most vibrantly colourful of all Disney Theatrical's offerings to date” while the New York Times praises its “relentless razzle-dazzle.”

The musical features all the hit Alan Menken songs from the movie like “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.” Menken returned to write new songs for the musical, too, bolstering the high energy of the show. Now playing at the New Amsterdam Theatre, Aladdin is a musical perfect for the entire family, with awe-inspiring effects and illusions, show-stopping dance numbers, and dazzling costumes.

Aladdin highlights

Aladdin has delighted theatregoers for years, cementing its status as a Broadway mainstay. The show premiered in Seattle in 2011 before opening on Broadway in 2014, where it was nominated for five Tony Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The magic carpet has since flown all over the world, as England, Japan, Mexico, and Germany have all hosted productions. Learn more about the hit Broadway musical, and get Aladdin tickets now on Goldstar.

  • Take a magic carpet ride. It wouldn’t be Aladdin without Carpet, Aladdin’s magical flying sidekick which whisks him and Jasmine away up and off the stage to a whole new world. How do they do it? That's Disney and theatre magic.
  • Enter the dazzling world of Agrabah. The musical brings the movie to life with jaw-dropping, vibrant sets that include the Cave of Wonders, the bright marketplace, and stunning palace. You'll feel like you've stepped into the film's magical world.
  • Hear new Alan Menken songs live. Not only does Aladdin on Broadway feature cut songs from the film, but it also includes entirely new songs by the famous composer, such as "These Palace Walls," "A Million Miles Away," and "Diamond in the Rough." Even those who know every word of the movie will still experience something unique to Broadway.
