As students across the nation go back to school, Freestyle+ is going old school. "Freestyle+ Celebrates Hip Hop Homecoming" looks back on school dances, sports, and all the ups and downs that made school years the best, worst, and most awkward years of our lives. As always, our talented cast takes your suggestions to inspire an entirely improvised, musical explosion. We got spirit, how ‘bout you?! Freestyle+ Celebrates is a monthly showcase at the elegant Midnight Theater, featuring some of New York’s premiere improv hip hop talent. Each show picks a new theme to inspire freestyle rap, improvisation, and DJ sets. Freestyle+ Celebrates creates an inclusive space for a growing improv community, inviting audience members to join a freestyle cypher with the cast at the end of the show. The show is a welcoming home for all music and improv fans, from Broadway stars to the merely improv-curious.
