Saturday April 24, 2010 / 7:00pm (Al Ernst)Comedy Zone Revue
How was your experience?
The club is on a very high floor, with mostly glass wall/windows displaying a spectacular view of downtown DC and the airplanes approaching Reagan Nat'l Airport. The club is small and intimate, so it is important that the performers (the comedians and the magician) and the audience relate and respond to each other. The performers on April 24 were indeed entertaining and engaging, and we much enjoyed them. We had been misadvised by previous reviewers about timing, and following their advice we did not come until 7:45 pm by which time the jazz was over and the emcee has started the show. We also were misadvised by Goldstar or its reviewers that the ticket price included admission to the Sky Lounge, but it does not. It does include free parking in the garage if you don't use the "valet" option. We went to the early show on Saturday, April 24. We enjoyed all of the show, the view, the service, and especially the hospitality of the maitre d' who expressed his legitimate frustration about the misinformation that Goldstar folks often arrived with. Especially at the discounted price via Goldstar, we felt this was an excellent Saturday night outing.
