How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
When attending a new musical that is pre-Broadway you know it is a work in progress. LEAP OF FAITH in my opinion is still in the workshop phase. The script is very convoluted and the musical numbers forgettable. Raul Esparza does his best to bring some life to this turkey…but there is only so much one man can do. Brooke Shields singing is almost embarrassing. Her performance brings nothing to the show, if anything it adds to the long list of problems with this show. My biggest disappointment is the complete waste of talent of Kendra Kassebaum who blew audiences away as Glenda in the musical WICKED. Here she is reduced to a supporting cast member and her vocal talents unused. Maybe the casting error was not letting her play the Brooke Shields role. The gospel chorus was great but again not given much to work with. The sets are minimal . Over all a bad night of musical theatre. If LEAP OF FAITH ever hopes to open on Broadway…there is a lot of work to be done.
