How was your experience?
I loved this event. It was a beautiful day and Bear Mtn. was breathtaking. The cruise up was peaceful and entertaining. I feel that the tour guide might've spoken too much, the information was interesting but I was content to just relax. The food onboard the boat was a little pricey, but I had taken along a picnic for our group so we were well taken care of. I heard that it might get cold on the boat - but it was such a beautiful day that we didn't even need the coats we had brought. The Oktoberfest was nice, the beers were very good and the food options were nice. I was glad I brought a picnic so we didn't have to deal with the food lines - they ended up getting pretty long. While the Oktoberfest was nice, the real attraction for myself and our group was the mountain. Being city-dwellers we don't get much time out in nature, and this was a perfect day to spend outside. It was great walking around the grounds and just taking in the scenery. We walked up a hill and found a great bench secluded from the park - it was a great way to take it all in. On our way back down the hill (yes it is a climb from the dock to the lake, wear comfortable shoes) we stopped at the Zoo (free). I loved watching the two black bears play - that was a great bonus to the trip. All in all it was a wonderful day. I highly recommend bringing your own food and making the effort to take in all Bear Mtn. has to offer. I'm so glad we went on this trip.
