How was your experience?
The space was much smaller than expected; they definitely try to squeeze as many people as possible but perhaps it was due to the performer Arturo Sandoval. A few less people and the place would have felt cozy and intimate; instead we felt cramped. He surely has an eclectic following; the performance itself was great! He kept the audience engaged and had a great sense of humor. The band played nonstop for 1.5 hours and did a good mix of latin jazz with smoother ballad types. The drink service was slow; again, probably due to all the people there. The only downside was the lack of space. My knees were literally on someone's back and everytime I tried to applaud or move my shoulders to the rhythm I ended up bumping into the guy at a table next to mine. We shared a very small table with another couple; but we made it work. Overall, great performance for the price but the venue felt small and cramped and I would have been less happy had I paid the full price.
