How was your experience?
I was very thrilled that we paid Goldstar's discounted fee for this event because if the 4 of us had paid full price [which went to $150+ pp] we would have been truly outraged. It was very undermanaged and poorly thought out. Almost no staff managed the door crowd of 1500 people trying to enter at admission time. Finally we entered and were let off on the 9th floor which had the dj spinning and the longest queues for drinks. Not knowing that the other floors had no lines, I spent 20 min waiting for my first drink from a limited bar. Should also mention that 40% of the wax figures were removed to allow the crowd in and that the "so called VIPs" sat at tables which often blocked access to view some of the figures. Crowd was at least 50% tourist; the rest locals deciding to try this new event [like ourselves]. Most the tourist spent their time touching and draping themselves over the figures which we thought was dangerous to the wax figures! Food was un-believeably bad; tuna salad rolls, coleslaws rolls, rice salad, sliced salami[?], reheated chicken fingers [did we go back 30 years?] and the staff was overwhelmed [ one women's bathroom lacked toilet tissue in ALL 5 stalls and paper towels] but I doubt anything was done when I reported it. Event was best for access to Time Square area beyond the blockades--without waiting
