Sunday July 31, 2011 / 8:00pmComedian Richard Lewis
How was your experience?
Funny from start to finish.Ms. Slate as the opening and host was wonderful as usual. Saw her recently and so was delighted to hear her not repeat her act word for word. Next came Mark Pitta who has been a bay area staple for years. He is still a rockin' good comedian who kept everyone laughing all through his set. A charming funny man whose take on life and love made us laugh from beginning to end. Then what is there to say about Richard Lewis. Being a fan of his for years but not a fan of Curb your Enthusiasm I was a bit leary he would have changed his act to reflect the show. No reason to worry...his years of therapy and bizarre take on the world are still the backbone of his act. Not really an act per se, but a rambling monolog about the strange way his world appears tom him. I know I would never see the same act from him twice as it is so evident he just goes with a stream of conciousness . Not to worry though because he goes where no man would normally go. We laughed with him and we laughed all night. No one wanted him to stop and we were blessed that he went overtime to keep us on his journey. He truly deserved the standing ovation hegot. Also, it was wonderful to see people from all generations enjoying the show. some of us knowing him for 40 years and some new ones from his more recent tv work.No matter the age, we all enjoyed him equally..
