Thursday April 5, 2012 / 8:00pmComedian Dat Phan
How was your experience?
As an Asian, I loved the very familiar cultural references in the comics' material. Sooooo close to home (and heart)! Kabir Singh unexpectedly did a few minutes. He's good. We're going back to see him this weekend. Dat Phan has gotten better over the years since he won Last Comic Standing. He is still doing a lot of material on/from his mother (poor Mama). He has added a lot of material based on his love of "white p***y". His delivery is much smoother. We were not familiar with the other comics but were very happily entertained. Loved Helen Hong's feisty nature. Don't mess with that little one! Zhang was the most awkward filling the silences with lots of "OK", "All right" asides. He needs to work on his timing. Walter Hong had this Deep South accent and wish he had given some background on that. And why is it everyone had to go ghetto accent and slang so much? Have they checked the mirror lately?
