How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
If you`re familiar with his work on the 25th anniversary production of Les Mis, you know Alfie Boe has an incredible tenor voice, great acting skills, and remarkable poise. But I bet you didn`t know that Alfie harbors a secret (well, not so secret) desire to be the next Elvis Presley and has a penchant for classic rock. So, if you think you`re going to get an Alfie concert doing all Les Mis and Broadway standards, you`ll be sadly mistaken! What you`ll get (mostly) instead is Alfie trying his pure tenor voice out on rock standards with a terrific backup band. Very entertaining with great energy and audience touch...but, hey, Alfie`s voice, frankly, isn`t well-suited to rock. His voice is too pure, too fine, too perfect. Perhaps if he smoked cigarettes and did whiskey shots for the next ten years that would a) help mature his rock voice and b) destroy one of the most angelic male voices in existence. I know Alfie Boe doesn`t want to get pegged as Jean Valjean forever, but he really needs to make a choice and I strongly suggest at the very least he divides his concerts in half: 1) Broadway/Traditional before the intermission and 2) Rock On afterwards. Sometimes the burden of having too much talent is the need to make some difficult, that`s in his future. In the meantime, enjoy this multi-faceted artist and his superlative voice.
