How was your experience?
Set outstanding; direction excellent; acting very good. The problem is the play itself. First, the Thirty Years' War is of little relevance today. Second, even with Pinsky's adaptation, it is a stilted play, with much exposition, telling of what happened offstage, and very little emotional involvement with the characters. Telling was that the audience (usually DC enthusiastic), gave one weak round of applause at the end. Sorry!
