Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries
3 tickets

How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
The show itself: Scooby-Doo! Live Musical Mysteries is a family musical. I would give the show itself about 3 1/2 stars. It was very much like watching an episode of Scooby Doo, with more singing. The story line was weak and the plot hard to follow, the unmasking expected and the reasoning behind the villain's actions made almost no sense at all. But, again, that is pretty much every episode of Scooby Doo. I was pleased with the singing and acting; the set was whimsical. The audience participation aspect was entertaining for the kids. The only real issue we had was hearing the actors. The music overpowered their voices and with an audience full of young kids interacting and just generally talking, it made it difficult to hear what the actors were saying through the production. Overall, it was a fun little musical and kept the attention of my preschooler, who asked to see it again. Goldstar Experience: While my preschooler is a HUGE Scooby Doo fan and had been asking to see the Scooby Doo Live show for months, I was not thrilled at the idea paying so much for tickets, or the extortion level of fees associated with them. Then, I saw someone mention Goldstar on a mom's blog I follow. I checked out the website, did a little research on them and read online reviews. The reviews seemed really varied based on city, venue and show, but I felt there was enough positive out there to give them a chance. The tickets they offered were half the price and the fee a third less. It was easy to sign up and select the ticket level I wanted. I purchased and quickly received my confirmation directing me to will call for my exact seats. I won't say I wasn't nervous. I didn't have an actual ticket in my hand and a preschooler who would not be so understanding if something went wrong. Fortunately, everything went very smoothly. Actually, it went better than I could have expected! Picking up the tickets at will call was a breeze. When I looked at the tickets I realized we got a big upgrade too! We were moved from the back of the mezzanine to mid orchestra. That is a huge difference in ability to view the action up close and of course in pricing. I was very grateful to Goldstar and/or the venue for the upgrade. The seats were great and the show was a hit with my son. It was an excellent first experience with Goldstar. I do realize of course that the upgrade is not standard and wouldn't expect that every time at every venue. After this experience, I will definitely try Goldstar again in the future.
