How was your experience?
Although I should have probably guessed that this play was going to have strong religious messages given that it was about the murder of a young girl who was declared a saint by the Catholic Church, I think that the treatment was heavy-handed and over-acted. The scene of the attack on the young girl, along with the previous interaction between the man and girl, lacked believability. I respect the theatre company's mission but wish that the scripting and acting reflected the subtle themes that could have been exploited in this story.
