How was your experience?
I took my sister and her family, including a tap-dancing 14 year-old girl, a hockey-playing 11 year-old boy, and a sports-fanatic father. It was the 11 year old's first time seeing a professional musical, and he was riveted. He and his father had an involved discussion during intermission about what great shape you'd have to be in to do all that dancing and still be able to sing at full voice. The 14-year old was thrilled to see tapping somewhere other than her dance recitals, and she fell in love with the ballroom dancing and costumes. Maybe the best part was that even though the show made many references to the slang and popular events of its time, everyone still got the jokes. It was also nice to see that the show could get laughs out of risque themes without being offensive.
