How was your experience?
Val Kilmer's one man play, Citizen Twain, was a hit with me. It seems the common complaint is that there was no storyline or that it "jumped around". I think that's the point. It's not supposed to be linear. When you're remembering events from your life, you don't always remember things in sequential order. The memories may start at the beginning, then take on a life of their own and get told in the order that they come to you. For me, part of the beauty of the play is that it flowed more like a stream of consciousness session. I am a Mark Twin/Samuel Clemons fan and a I learned some interesting things watching this performance. Val Kilmer's performance absolutely charmed and delighted the audience. He was gracious enough to take questions and feedback from the audience at the show I attended. Clearly he views it as a work in progress. That made the experience all the more engaging and memorable.
