How was your experience?
If you see only one summer theater event, SEE THIS ONE! This is an absolutely great professional production of Shakespeare's craziest comedy in a very-cool outdoor amphitheater in (of all places) Garden Grove. 18 or 19 actors in excellent costumes use Elizabethan sets and props under first-class lighting to make you laugh like crazy. Free parking is steps away from the outdoor picnic area, so dress casual, get to the show 60 to 90 mins. early, and enjoy your munchies and drinks under the trees on the lawn. Bring beach chairs and blanket to spread out. Also a great intro to Shakespeare and professional theater for high-schoolers. At 7:30, as you finish your dinner and dessert, you get a free Greens Show which will get you laughing, too. Then into the open-air theater, where you'll be in an audience of about 200 within a few rows from the stage. Bring sweater or jacket - it can get cool at night. There's a no-alcohol snack bar at intermission with top price $1.The show ends about 10:50 PM. It helps to know a little about the play beforehand. Look Twelfth Night up on the web, or read the short synopsis at the theater. Mistaken identity of boy-girl twins and silly wordplay are important. At Goldstar prices, this is a screaming bargain. Do not miss this!
